Lyrical is a dance style that combines ballet and jazz dancing techniques. It is performed to music with lyrics so that it inspires expression of strong emotions the choreographer feels from the lyrics of the song.

Aerial Arts is an exciting path of the performance world, taking acrobatics to the air. We offer classes focusing on different aerial apparatuses including silks and lyra. Our teachers will take students through different manoeuvres and skills, work on progressions and sequencing, building strength, flexibility and aerial awareness. They will be taught the fundamentals of working with an aerial apparatus, including safety, and build confidence in the air.

Hip Hop founded in the late 70’s and early 80’s hip hop is one of the newest styles emerging in
the dance world. Performed to urban music, Hip Hop includes a mixture of low laid back
movements with strong and hard-hitting steps. There are many branches of the Hip Hop style
(vogue/krump/tutting) and more new moves are created every day. This is a wonderful style for
the funky dancer with a natural groove.


Senior Hip Hop

Jazz is a fun and upbeat style involving lots of jumps, kicks and turns. There are many sister

Acting introduces students to the art of Acting. This fun and engaging class builds
confidence, improves memory and encourages students to harness the power of their
imagination. In addition they will be taught the foundations of Acting using games, individual
monologues and group scene work.

Adult Dance

Dancing since the age of 8, Renee is a respected professional within the performing arts industry. Renee studied the performing arts for many years with such reputable schools as: “The Performers School of Dance” and “Julie-Ann Lucas School of Dance”. Over the years she has had the pleasure of performing across Queensland in professional, promotional and competitive productions. Her passion for the performing arts and desire to provide quality training and opportunities for children in a fun and encouraging environment is what inspired her to create Reese Dance in 2009.

Renee holds a Certificate IV in Dance Teaching & Management, Senior First Aid / CPR accredited and a QLD blue card. She is a member of CSTD (Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dance) and ATOD.

Adult Jazz

Ready Set Acro is a collaborative acrobatic program developed with Industry Leader Acrobatic Arts, specifically designed for preschoolers. It emphasizes safe and effective progressions to foster the physical and social skills needed for healthy early childhood development. The program features original music with lyric cues and focuses on three key components: STRETCH, STRENGTH, and SKILLS.

Ready Set Dance is a combo class that includes Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Singing, and Music, designed for both boys and girls to teach the fundamentals of dance while fostering CONFIDENCE, COORDINATION, and CREATIVITY in a professional and safe environment. 

Ready Set Ballet is a magical ballet experience designed for 2- to 5-year-olds, introducing them to the fundamentals of classical ballet through specifically crafted music that highlights its beauty. The curriculum fosters coordination, body awareness, strength, and flexibility using visual and auditory instruction.

Since taking her first dancing lesson at age 4, Maranne (Ranni) has not left the stage.  In 2004 she completed a Certificate 4 in Musical Theatre and Commercial Dance at the Davidia Lind Dance Centre, the same school at which she spent 17 years learning her craft.  

Although we usually see Maranne as a dancer she has always enjoyed the acting and drama side of performing.  She won a ‘Best Actress’ award in the Brisbane Arts theatre Festival for a role that was written for her by a top Australian playwright. 

Maranne's love of performing has seen her dance at Eisteddfods, Festivals, Sports openings, Corporate events and much more all over Australia and she is thrilled to be able to bring over 25 years worth of experience to the aspiring performers of all ages at Reese Dance.
