Originating on the streets of New York, we offer classes tailored to a younger audience that loves the moves and grooves of Hip Hop. Even after the rigor of a long day at school, this class is a perfect circuit breaker. Hip Hop dance classes are a fun way to learn an art form which has evolved over the years into a stimulating improvisational dance style.

Contemporary Dance is a difficult, but visually pleasing genre of dance that features heavily in popular dance culture. Our Contemporary Dance classes allow our Ballet class students to learn and experience an altogether different dance style. As we find many students have a genuine love of dance in all its forms, we encourage the exploration of different genres, and those who have attended Ballet lessons to senior level are welcome to try Contemporary dance.

Our dance classes for toddlers from two and a half, and kids aged 2 to 5 years, are the perfect launchpad for Little Dancers who love to move to music and have fun. Designed especially to give toddlers and kids their first experience of dance, Little Dancers introduces boys and girls to the basics of Irish, Jazz, Ballet, and Tap. And our Little Dancers are always the stars of the annual showcase concert – everyone falls in love with how cute they are!

Cartwheels, trampolining or just being upside down? If your child likes to do these things, then our Acro Dance class is the perfect way to combine the elegance of dance with the strength of gymnastics. This class is loads of fun!  Students begin with the basics – cartwheels, balance and forward rolls, gaining increased flexibility and fitness, improving their agility and progressing through to more advanced movements and tricks. We follow the Acrobatic Arts syllabus, and our certified teachers will guide your child safely, comprehensively and progressively to take your child to world where jazz dance technique and gymnastics are combined.

With a love of dance, especially Irish dance, and a passion for teaching, Clare is the founder and Director of CM Dance. Through her role as teacher over many years, Clare has taught hundreds of dancers, also providing invaluable pastoral care to children of all ages, from very young to students growing through the more challenging teen years. Clare’s straightforward and genuine approach is perfectly balanced with understanding and care of each student at CM Dance, with her experience and qualifications providing knowledge of children’s developmental needs. As a mother herself, Clare has a deep understanding of the important role parents and carers play in providing dance opportunities for their children. It is with this awareness that underpins Clare’s approach.



Having grown up in a dancing family where her mother was a professional dancer and her sister and mother own a dance school together in Gladstone, Mady has always danced. Her qualifications include completing an Advanced Diploma in Classical and Contemporary Dance at the Queensland National Ballet and achieving a Gold Star CSTD Tap and Grade 7 CSTD Jazz. Mady is a technician in the correct ballet technique and is able to produce dancers with an excellent understanding standing.  She is currently studying Exercise and Nutrition Science at UQ.
