At City Adult Ballet, we extend a warm invitation to adults with little to no ballet experience. Our Beginner/Open classes are tailored just for you, offering the perfect entryway into discovering the joy of ballet.

Embark on a journey of grace and creativity in our beginner ballet classes, where you'll uncover valuable insights on technique, alignment, music, and expression.



Commence your class at the ballet barre, where emphasis is placed on proper placement and establishing a strong technical foundation. Away from the barre, you'll enjoy moving your body elegantly through space to music! 
All exercises will be clearly demonstrated and it is an opportunity to work closely with your instructor, refining transitional steps and seeking guidance when needed.



Classical Ballet

Under Kyle's expert guidance, you'll refine your technique, explore the artistry of movement, and unlock your true potential as a dancer. With his unique blend of classical ballet and contemporary flair, Kyle inspires and elevates our adult dancers to new levels of excellence.

Kyle's impressive resume includes performances with prestigious companies like The Australian Ballet and New English Contemporary Ballet, as well as teaching engagements at renowned institutions worldwide. His commitment to excellence and passion for dance shine through in every class, making him a cherished member of our teaching faculty.


Jane's dedication to teaching adult dancers stems from her deep passion for the art form. She values and celebrates the unique journey of each individual in her classes. With a focus on artistry, she guides her students through the crafting of elegant positions, synchronising movement with music, and emphasises the importance of precise technique and strong foundations. Above all, Jane encourages her dancers to embrace the sheer joy of movement and relish the dance experience.

Bringing a wealth of experience from her professional dance background, including notable roles as an award-winning dancer with The Australian Ballet, The Royal New Zealand Ballet, and touring nationwide with The Wiggles, Jane enriches her teaching with insights garnered from around the world.

Renowned Japanese choreographer and welcomed guest ballet teacher for City Adult Ballet, Yuiko Masukawa is recognised for her dynamic classical ballet performances in Australia and abroad. 

Yuiko is the recipient of the esteemed Telstra Emerging Choreographer’s Award from The Australian Ballet, Yuiko's groundbreaking work "3" has captivated audiences, showcasing her dedication to pushing artistic boundaries.



Commanding the stage as a professional dancer with Opera Australia, and a certified Counter Technique and Barre instructor, Chimene's journey is a symphony of grace and refined technical foundations, inspiring adult ballet dancers to reach new heights.

Chimene infuses her classes at City Adult Ballet with energy and expertise, creating a sanctuary for dancers to explore, grow, and express themselves freely.

Masha Peker is an accomplished ballet teacher and former dancer with the Melbourne Ballet Company, bringing over 14 years of professional experience to City Adult Ballet. Her teaching focuses on building strong classical technique while nurturing individual creativity, offering a supportive environment for adult learners to explore their passion for ballet.

Certified in Pilates, Masha has trained elite athletes, including Commonwealth Games gymnasts. Masha’s goal is to inspire students to embrace ballet as a powerful form of personal expression and empowerment.
