Brisbane Academy of Dance was established in 1994 and has since grown to become a renowned provider of quality dance education and training on the north side of Brisbane. We offer a diverse dance curriculum for students from 2 years old to young professionals. Our dance genres include classical ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, acrobatics and hip hop. We pride ourselves on developing, encouraging and nurturing the unique and individual qualities each student possesses. Our studio is built upon the passion & care of our teaching faculty & the talents of all our students.

Zoe Westh has been the Principal of Brisbane Academy of Dance (BAD) for more than 20 years, after taking on the studio in 2004. Studying classical ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop and musical theatre from the early age of four, Zoe lives for her passion of the performing arts and passing her vast knowledge of dance onto the younger generations. After studying musical theatre and commercial dance in Sydney and Brisbane, Zoe became the Principal of B.A.D, striving to produce a positive and nurturing environment for her students to grow and develop their talents in all genres of dance.

She is an examiner of the Australasian Dance Association certified with an Advanced Diploma in jazz, tap & classical ballet and a qualified registered teacher and member of the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD;RTS). Zoe 


Kyra Kennedy has been a student and started her dance training at Brisbane Academy of Dance from the age of three. Whilst studying dance at the Brisbane Academy of Dance, Kyra has excelled in contemporary, jazz, tap, classical ballet, hip hop, lyrical & acrobatics. Kyra has been involved in many group and solo performances throughout Greater Brisbane and has been a member of BADANCE from its launch in 2014.

She is a registered teacher with the Australasian Dance Association holding her Advanced Diploma in jazz and Intermediate Diploma in tap. Kyra is a registered teacher of the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), and a teacher of Comdance Jason Winters Contemporary Technique Syllabus (affiliate member Comdance).

Kyra has recently completed her Teachers certificate in Progressing B


Melinda Gatti began dancing at an early age, receiving training in a variety of dance forms including ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary and hip hop. Melinda is a registered teacher of A.D.A. in jazz and tap, holding her Advanced Diploma, and is a registered teacher of the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD;RTS) and has received her ARAD in classical ballet. She has also received her Bachelor in Primary Education HPE from QUT.

Moving to Brisbane from Cairns in 2011, Melinda taught tap and jazz at a local dance school before coming to dance and teach at Brisbane Academy of Dance.


Growing up with dance through the Brisbane Academy of Dance, Jessica has studying all genres of dance including Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Classical Ballet, Lyrical, Contemporary and Acrobatics. Jess has completed her Certificate III & IV in Dance through the Australian Dance Institute and holds her Ada’s Little Gems Teacher Training Certificate. Jessica has completed her ADA Pre Elementary Teacher qualifications and a Diploma of Professional Dance (Elite Performance) with Queensland College of Dance. Miss Jess is excited to share her strong passion for dance with our young dancers.
