Lyrical is the combination of ballet and jazz and often uses music with lyrics to inspire the movements of the dancer. An expressive form of dance where your child will learn to move expressively, breathe, create and build important technical skills as a young dancer. Our vision is that our students will have a strong technical foundation, will grow to become expressive and confident artists that will be the future choreographers of the next generation!

Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, Angelica has been dancing since she was three years old. Training in both the Cecchetti and R.A.D. syllabuses she partook in numerous eisteddfods, productions and examinations. ‘Performing was my favourite part of dance. I loved to step into a new costume and become a new character on stage. There is nothing quite like the anticipation when hiding behind the wings before stepping into the lights.’ In 2012, she moved to Sydney, where she furthered her dance studies at C3 College over the course of three years.

Little Lights Dance is a dance school located in Oxford Falls, on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Our program caters for children ages 2-12 years and offers classes in ballet, lyrical, tap and  jazz. We’re a non-competitive school, meaning students are free to learn dance without the pressure of outcome-based training associated with exams and eisteddfods.

Our children's dance classes provide children with a strong technical foundation in dance, whilst unlocking their imaginations and teaching them how to express themselves through movement.

Ballet has always been a loved and important part of Sophie’s life, part of who she is. She began at the age of 3 and went on to complete all the Royal Academy of Dance examinations. Sophie is so thankful for all the wonderful experiences ballet has brought her including performing at the Opera House, competing in the Genee International Ballet Competition and forming life long skills and friendships. Sophie relishes the opportunity to share her passion for ballet with young and old! 

Sophie is a primary school teacher who is married to a beautifully supportive husband, Stephen and is the mum of 3 gorgeous girls, Mia, Lexi and Sienna. Her house is filled with tutus and she wouldn’t have it any other way! 

Katie started dancing from the age of 5 years old and has fallen in love with the performing arts ever since. Growing up on the Northern Beaches, Katie has trained at multiple local dance studios throughout her school years, receiving an extensive training in all styles. She found her love for teaching during her senior year of high school, as she taught and helped the schools dance ensemble as Performing Arts Captain. Recently, Katie has graduated from Ed5International full time receiving an Advanced Diploma in Performing Arts under the guidance of William A. Forsythe and looks forward to sharing her knowledge and love for the arts. 

Katie is beaming to be at little lights and can’t wait to create beautiful memories with the dancers.  

Liz started dancing at the age of 3 at Brent Street and has continued training in all styles of dance and theatre ever since. She has performed at many concerts, festivals/events, examinations and eisteddfods and has been involved in teaching and choreographing from the age of 16. Liz has completed RAD examinations up to advanced foundation ballet, as well as ADV Major 2 in Jazz. For her HSC she also achieved a band 6 and all 3 pieces that she performed were nominated for HSC callbacks. 

Liz believes that dance is an amazing way for young children to explore their creative abilities and imaginations.
